Potential Reunion Between Odell Beckham Jr. and the Giants?
Is there a chance that Odell Beckham Jr. could return to the Giants? It seems like there might be something brewing.
Of course, if that happens, it would also mean he reunites with a new head coach.
John Harbaugh had some kind words for Beckham on Monday, mentioning that adding the 33-year-old wide receiver to the roster isn’t off the table.
“The obvious answer is to look at all options, right?” Harbaugh noted during the NFL’s annual league meeting in Arizona. “If Odell is an option, we would definitely consider him.”
Now, that’s a big “what if.” Beckham had an impressive five years with the Giants, but age and injuries have taken their toll. His career has been quite the journey, including a stint in 2023 with Harbaugh’s Ravens, where he caught 35 passes for 565 yards and three touchdowns.
So, there’s a connection there—Harbaugh has talked about Beckham frequently. “He and I talk and text a lot. We have a fantastic relationship,” he mentioned. “He’s one of my favorite guys. It’s not like I shy away from discussions about things like this. We definitely do talk.”
But does it actually make sense for the Giants? They have their No. 1 receiver Malik Nabors returning from ACL surgery, who’s expected to be back this summer. Plus, Darius Slayton is still part of the team, and they added Darnell Mooney and Calvin Austin III on one-year deals. Isaiah Hodgins was re-signed, but they did lose Wan Dale Robinson to the Titans.
Beckham, who was picked 12th overall in the 2014 NFL Draft, made quite an impression early on, winning the NFC’s Offensive Rookie of the Year award. He had a remarkable 390 receptions, 5,476 yards, and 44 touchdowns during his five seasons in New York before being traded to the Browns. After winning a Super Bowl with the Rams in 2021, he suffered an ACL tear during the game and showed just glimpses of his former self with the Ravens in 2023 and the Dolphins in 2024.
In 2025, he was sidelined entirely due to a six-game suspension for violating the league’s performance-enhancing drugs policy.
So, the question lingers: does it really make sense for him to end his career where it all began?
Harbaugh commented, “We need to see how things unfold and determine what’s best for him and for the Giants. That’s the priority—what’s best for the team. If any player can help us improve, we’ll look into that. We’ll just have to wait and see.”
