Abdul Carter of the Giants discusses his reaction to Jaxon Dart's Trump introduction

Abdul Carter’s Stance on Trump and Jackson Dart

Abdul Carter recently shared his thoughts on aligning with President Donald Trump while introducing Jackson Dart at a New York event. This happened after fellow pass rushers expressed their discontent with Dart’s approach, particularly regarding Trump’s involvement.

“Some things are larger than football, and this is one of them,” he remarked. Jackson is a leader; he represents more than just himself—he embodies our whole team. It’s crucial for us, anyone wearing a Giants uniform, to stand together on this. If he chooses to back Trump, I feel I must show not just my teammates but the world that I, personally, oppose it because of my beliefs,” Carter explained.

“That doesn’t mean there’s animosity. Jackson and I, we get along well. I see him every day in meetings. We have a good rapport. As long as our team goals align, which they do, we’ll get through this,” he added, almost reflecting on how some issues transcend the game itself.

Dart, who was at the same event, had previously introduced Trump at Rockland Community College, igniting some backlash among teammates, especially from first-round picks like Carter.

In a now-deleted post, Carter humorously noted that he thought the situation resembled AI-generated content, contrasting it with the human emotions involved in such discussions.

He later deleted another message stating they had a conversation. “Everything’s cool between me and JD6!” he wrote, emphasizing they’d spoken as adults. “Ale can keep the rumors,” hinting at the frenzy surrounding their interactions.

It was reported that Dart informed his teammates about his decision the following Tuesday, although Carter wasn’t there due to family obligations tied to the Muslim holiday of Eid al-Adha.

Carter emphasized he wasn’t looking for an apology from Dart. “I don’t need him to say sorry. Just stand firm in your beliefs. That’s all I require,” he stated, conveying that mutual understanding is essential. “If that’s in place, everything will be okay,” he concluded.
