Firefighters Arrested on Child Molestation Charges
Three firefighters from a suburb of North Dallas were arrested on Thursday, facing multiple charges related to the molestation of a juvenile victim, as per court records.
This shocking news came shortly after two of the suspects were recognized for their contributions to the community.
All three are associated with the Howe Fire Department in Grayson County. They’ve been identified as David Yoshimar Perez-Glass, Dalton Joe McCaslin, and Joshua Todd Ryals.
The men are being charged with several felonies, including sexual assault of a child and indecency with a child involving sexual contact.
According to the complaint, they allegedly targeted a 16-year-old firefighter who had started volunteering at the department in January 2022.
Perez-Glass is said to have begun harassing the girl within a month of her joining, and the situation escalated rapidly when they were alone at the station.
The documents detail how Perez’s behavior alarmed her, culminating in an incident where he allegedly hugged, grabbed, and threw her onto a couch.
The victim, who identified as a virgin and expressed her discomfort with his actions, reported that Perez-Glass verbally assaulted her over 20 times within a year and had sexual encounters with her less than ten times.
Moreover, court documents reveal that McCaslin began a “consensual” sexual relationship with the girl in December 2022, while also threatening her with harm if she ever reported their interactions.
These alleged assaults reportedly ceased when the victim turned 17, as Perez-Glass lost interest in pursuing a relationship.
Interestingly, despite the ongoing abuse, Perez-Glass was named Firefighter of the Year by the Howe Fire Department and even received a promotion to lieutenant within that year.
McCaslin and the victim also reportedly had private interactions at an apartment McCaslin shared with a fellow firefighter while their roommates were asleep.
In his own admission, Ryals acknowledged inappropriate conduct with the victim at the Howe Fire Station during a time they were alone.
Prior to his arrest, Ryals had resigned the week earlier and was recently recognized by the Melissa Fire Department as the best paramedic.
The investigation carried out by Texas Rangers led to the arrests of all three suspects.
Perez-Glass and McCaslin each face three counts of sexual assault of a child, while Ryals has been charged with two counts of indecency with a child involving sexual contact. All three are now in custody at the Grayson County Jail.
