Thirteen-Year-Old Girl Who Went Missing is Discovered Alive After 32 Years

Missing Arizona Girl Found After 30 Years

A 13-year-old girl from Arizona, who disappeared over three decades ago, has been unexpectedly located alive, authorities announced on Wednesday.

Christina Marie Plante went missing in Star Valley, Arizona, in 1994, vanishing without a trace. Recently, the Gila County Sheriff’s Office made a significant breakthrough in the long-standing case.

“After 32 years, Christina Marie Plante has been found alive. Investigators have confirmed her identity, and she is no longer classified as a missing person,” stated Sheriff J. Adam Shepard.

When Plante first vanished, extensive search efforts involved local law enforcement, volunteers, and community resources. Despite thorough ground searches, interviews, and follow-up investigations, investigators found no viable leads.

The Gila County Sheriff’s Office reported that Christina was entered into the national missing child database and flyers were distributed widely, both locally and throughout the country.

For years, this case remained open, with investigators periodically examining evidence and following up on new information as it arose.

However, thanks to new technologies and modern investigative techniques, detectives identified clues that ultimately led to this breakthrough in the cold case.

Christina went missing in May 1994 while visiting a stable near her home. Local residents expressed concern over her disappearance, which was considered suspicious, and authorities warned that she could be in danger.

“This case underscores the importance of ongoing cold case reviews and showcases how evolving technology can bring closure to families and communities,” remarked Sheriff Shepherd.

Out of respect for Christina’s privacy, the sheriff’s office has chosen not to disclose further details at this time.

The Gila County Sheriff’s Office remains dedicated to solving cold cases and encourages anyone with information to step forward.
