Investigation into Nazi Salute at Dallas Game

The American Airlines Center in Dallas is looking into an incident where a group of fans allegedly performed a Nazi salute during a game in December. Recent reports highlighted a fan making this gesture during a 5-1 victory over the Maple Leafs on December 21, and a video capturing the moment has now gained widespread attention online.

The arena issued a statement saying, “American Airlines Arena (AAC) has zero tolerance for hateful or discriminatory acts of any kind and is committed to ensuring an environment free of disruptive behavior toward guests, including foul language, abusive language, and obscene gestures.” They emphasized that they condemn the actions shown in the video and that an internal investigation is underway. All attendees are expected to adhere to the AAC, NBA, or NHL Code of Conduct during events.

The Dallas Stars are also cooperating with this investigation. A spokesperson for the team shared that they fully support the arena’s stance and are working to clarify what exactly transpired.

In the viral video, a group of fans appears to extend their right arms in a salute while celebrating a goal during the game. It seems there was some excitement around them, but their behavior stood out for its starkness.

A recent Reddit post featuring this clip helped bring attention to the incident, with the video racking up 4.4 million views. The AAC further stated that individuals who breach the code of conduct could face legal action if it violates applicable laws.

The NHL Code of Conduct underscores the importance of respect, inclusivity, and safety at all events, calling for adherence to these values in interactions among fans and personnel. Penalties for violations could potentially include a lifetime ban from future NHL events.
