Giants’ Celebration Leads to a Reporter’s Laptop Mishap
The San Francisco Giants celebrated their 7-2 win over the New York Mets on Thursday in a rather unexpected way—a Powerade shower gone wrong.
During the post-game festivities at AT&T Park, shortstop Willie Adames attempted to pour the sugary drink on rookie Daniel Suszak, who had just shined in his first MLB game. However, the enthusiasm backfired when the drink rained down on Kylen Mills, a reporter, causing damage to his laptop.
The sticky drink not only soaked Mills’ computer but reportedly broke it as well, leaving him momentarily stunned by what had just happened.
Later, Mills took to social media, joking about the incident with a bit of humor, sharing his grief with playful crying emoticons while noting, “My laptop is burnt.”
On the brighter side, Suszak didn’t seem to mind being drenched on that cool Bay Area night. He had just completed an impressive three hits in three at-bats, including a walk, making for a memorable debut.
As for Adames, he seemed unfazed and continued to toss more Powerade around, even targeting a second teammate shortly after. It’s clear the Giants were in high spirits.
As the team gears up for another match against the Mets on Friday at 7:15 p.m., one can only imagine how quickly the training staff will need to restock the coolers for future celebrations.
