Court removes ban on 'conversion therapy' — but the true conversion therapists remain on the left

Supreme Court Decision on Conversion Therapy Ban

This week, the Supreme Court delivered a significant ruling for those against transition practices, stating that Colorado is not permitted to enforce a ban on “conversion therapy.” This therapy specifically targets discussions between minors and therapists who do not endorse an affirming approach to guilt.

In an 8-1 decision, the Court expressed that a law permitting therapists to affirm a minor’s gender identity or sexual orientation, while simultaneously forbidding them from assisting in any change if the minor wishes to, is fundamentally flawed.

The lawsuit originated with Kaylee Childs, a licensed Christian therapist. She contended that her dialogues with clients constituted protected speech, yet Colorado was allowing the state to regulate it.

Commenting on the ruling, Blaze TV host Allie Beth Stuckey shared her enthusiasm. She indicated that this means Christian counselors and mental health professionals can now be truthful, expressing not just their biblical beliefs but also biological facts. Stuckey argued that these professionals faced repercussions for recognizing and validating biological realities.

She further emphasized the importance of ensuring minors have open access to biblical counselors who offer truthful guidance, suggesting that the actual “conversion therapists” are those on the left. Stuckey elaborated, defining true conversion therapy as telling a young woman with autism and schizophrenia that her distress with her body stems from being of the opposite sex. She also mentioned scenarios where young boys are encouraged to transition, stating that this form of therapy should be deemed harmful and must be banned.
