The situation surrounding Tiger Woods’ recent drunk driving arrest is becoming more complicated.
A second mugshot of the golfer was released on Friday, and it doesn’t present him in a flattering light. In this latest photo, he appears in a blue prison uniform, looking expressionless with unkempt hair after being questioned at the Martin County Sheriff’s Office.
Initially, during his arrest, he was wearing a blue polo shirt and had bloodshot eyes in the first mugshot.
Woods, who is 50, was taken into custody on March 27 for allegedly driving under the influence after hitting a truck and flipping his Range Rover near his home in Jupiter Island, Florida. Body camera footage from that day shows him admitting to using “several pills” and struggling with a field sobriety test.
According to the police report, two pills believed to be hydrocodone were found in his pocket.
Even though Woods tested negative on a breathalyzer, he refused a urine test but displayed “signs of impairment,” according to law enforcement. He mentioned to police that he was “looking at his cell phone and changing radio stations” when the crash occurred.
Interestingly, Woods also informed the officers that he had just finished a phone call with President Donald Trump.
Woods has entered a plea of not guilty to misdemeanor charges for driving under the influence with property damage and for refusing a legal test. He also received a non-criminal citation for careless driving, along with a $163 fine.
On March 31, Woods announced he would be stepping away for a while to focus on treatment and personal health. After expressing some privacy concerns, he got approval to seek treatment outside the United States, arriving in Zurich, Switzerland, on Friday morning.
In a statement, Woods expressed his commitment to take the necessary time to return to a healthier and more focused state, both in his personal life and career.
This incident comes just days after he returned to competitive golf following back surgery in late 2025. Woods participated in the finals of the TGL League, which he was instrumental in creating, at Juniper Links Golf Club.
It might be a while before we see him compete again. He has decided not to participate in the upcoming Masters and has withdrawn his name from consideration for the U.S. Ryder Cup captain position in 2027.
Throughout this ordeal, his girlfriend Vanessa Trump has shown her support, sharing a photo of the couple with a caption that read “I love you,” accompanied by two heart emojis.
