Trump Uses Strong Language in Easter Sunday Warning to Iran

Trump’s Warning to Iran Over Shipping Lanes

On Saturday, President Trump delivered a stark warning to Iran, urging the government to stop efforts that could undermine crucial maritime shipping routes.

Previously, Trump had delayed potential military action against Iranian power plants, referencing advancements in negotiations after giving Iran an ultimatum on March 21. He later indicated that Iran had a mere 48 hours to secure a deal.

In a post made Sunday morning, Trump emphasized, “Tuesday is Power Plant Day and Bridge Day rolled into one in Iran. There’s no better day than this!!!” He continued, “Open the straits, you crazy bastards, or you will live in hell – look! Praise be to Allah.”

On Saturday, amid operations to rescue a weapons officer from a downed F-15E Strike Eagle, Trump issued a similar alert. The officer was eventually saved from within Iran during a bold operation early Sunday.

“Remember when I gave Iran 10 days to make a deal or open the Strait of Hormuz? Time is running out. 48 hours left until all hell is upon them. Glory to God!” Trump stated on Saturday.

The Strait of Hormuz plays a vital role in global energy markets, with approximately 25% of offshore oil transport passing through its narrow passageways. Energy prices worldwide have surged as Iran restricted access to the strait for all but a limited number of vessels.

Trump had announced military operations against Iran on February 28. Following this declaration, Iran retaliated with missile and drone strikes targeting various nations including Kuwait, Israel, and Saudi Arabia.

In a post on March 14, Trump called for U.S. allies to aid in reopening the Strait of Hormuz, but NATO has yet to respond. On Tuesday, he urged European nations to “belatedly muster up the courage to go to the Straits and just take it.”
