Easter Message from White House Faith Adviser
Paula White-Cain, a faith adviser at the White House, delivered an Easter message emphasizing hope and salvation. Interestingly, she challenged recent data suggesting that Americans’ interest in religion is on the decline.
During her appearance on “My View with Lara Trump,” she expressed, “I don’t know how people actually do that unless they have a real relationship with God. God loves you, wants you, and has made a way for you to come to Him freely through His Son, Jesus Christ.” White-Cain highlighted how Jesus aimed to give life, describing this as a message filled with hope, love, forgiveness, and reconciliation.
She pointed to recent surveys indicating that fewer Americans see religion as vital in their lives, with a growing number identifying as having no particular faith. However, White-Cain argued that this trend reflects a shift away from organized religion rather than a loss of faith. She noted an uptick in religious interest among younger Americans and an increase in Bible sales.
White-Cain commented, “It’s not that most people aren’t believers or believe in God. In fact, less than 5% are atheists. What has changed is a sense of belonging.” She pointed out that societal skepticism towards institutions and a desire for more genuine expressions of faith might be contributing to the decline in formal religious affiliation.
She observed, “Some individuals have moved away from traditional organizations, possibly due to their denomination or family background. Still, they remain connected to God.” White-Cain emphasized that many young people are actively pursuing their faith and seeking authentic experiences that offer purpose and community.
