Four 17-year-old students from Texas are accused of kidnapping and torturing a classmate at gunpoint, allegedly because he was speaking to one of his girlfriends, according to police reports.
Details from court documents reveal that the teens—identified as Jose Rojas Alvarado, Óscar Armando Santiago Martínez, Ángel Remus Perez, and Carlos Roberto Oliva Villeda—are said to have tied up their victim, set him on fire, and beaten him with a baseball bat while threatening him with a gun, as reported by local news.
The victim, who had been friends with the group for about two years, was tricked into leaving Del Valle High School on February 19 under the pretext of getting pizza. Instead, three of the suspects drove him home where the fourth was waiting, as explained by police officials.
The victim recounted to police that they had been chatting normally in a garage for nearly an hour. However, once he was made to sit in a chair, the atmosphere shifted dramatically.
The accused then restrained him using duct tape on his hands, feet, and mouth, taking turns holding a gun to his head while savagely beating him with an aluminum bat, a cane, and a belt, based on the affidavit.
One of the suspects, Remus Perez, allegedly heated a box cutter with a lighter and pressed it against the victim’s chest. Furthermore, Rojas-Alvarado reportedly forced the victim to drink from a bottle of alcohol, issuing a threat to cut off his toes if he refused.
At one point during the ordeal, Rojas-Alvarado is said to have brandished a chainsaw and a machete, threatening serious harm. The victim also mentioned that a plastic bag was placed over his head at one stage.
As the situation escalated, Rojas-Alvarado purportedly explained that the torture was a consequence of the victim’s conversations with his girlfriend, insisting that he should stop.
The victim later disclosed that his attackers deleted his phone number and eventually released him, leaving him at a different location. He managed to reach a bus stop where he contacted the police to report the incident.
Authorities indicated that the victim suffered significant bruising on his chest, back, and legs.
During questioning, three of the suspects—Santiago Martínez, Remus Perez, and Oliva Villeda—allegedly confessed to planning the kidnapping a week prior.
All four individuals face charges of aggravated kidnapping with a deadly weapon, categorized as a first-degree felony, and are also charged with engaging in organized criminal activity, as noted in court filings.
Officials confirmed that none of the four suspects are currently enrolled in the school district.
