Ted Bundy’s Stalking of Teen Victim Revealed

New details have emerged about notorious serial killer Ted Bundy’s actions prior to the murder of Laura Ann Aim, a teenager found badly beaten in Utah. Her family disclosed that he had been stalking her, even pretending to be her boyfriend months before her disappearance.

Recently, law enforcement confirmed that there was “no doubt” Bundy was responsible for the death of 17-year-old Aim. She vanished from a Halloween party over 50 years ago, becoming one of Bundy’s victims, known for targeting young women and hitchhikers.

Taula Stacchi, Aim’s niece, stated, “It looks like Ted Bundy stalked my aunt several times before he killed her. He approached her on multiple occasions.” This shocking revelation comes from files obtained by Stuckey, who worked with a private investigator probing Aim’s death, indicating that Bundy had more interactions with Aim than just chance encounters.

One of Bundy’s first interactions with Aim happened during a school incident where he intervened to protect her from harassment. He approached her, put his arm around her, and said, “Please leave my girlfriend alone.” Aim, clearly confused, responded, “I’m not your girlfriend,” highlighting an unsettling mix of charm and menace.

Stuckey was aware for years that Bundy had targeted her aunt but felt a sense of relief upon the recent confirmation from authorities about Bundy’s culpability, acknowledging, “We always knew he was involved, but his stalking behavior is something else.” The details of her disappearance are haunting—Aim was last seen leaving a Halloween party in Lehi and heading to a convenience store. Her body was discovered a month later in American Fork Canyon.

Authorities believe her body was dumped off the highway, severely beaten and unclothed. Stuckey described how her grandfather had a heartbreaking time identifying Aim due to the extensive injuries, noting he recognized her by a scar from a previous accident.

Aim is believed to be at least Bundy’s third known victim, and according to Stuckey, one of the few he stalked prior to the murder. Before his execution in 1989, Bundy confessed to killing her, but authorities didn’t formally close the case until they could substantiate his admissions.

Stuckey expressed relief that the investigation into her aunt’s death continues even after so many years, saying, “It’s astonishing to think that people still care about her after 52 years. She is remembered.” Although Aim’s case shares similarities with other murders attributed to Bundy, inconsistencies and various factors had originally delayed a definitive conclusion until recent investigations led to renewed focus on Bundy as the primary suspect.
