California gubernatorial candidate Eric Swalwell is facing the possibility of legal action if he “disparages” any of the individuals who have accused him of sexual misconduct, as warned by one accused’s husband over the weekend.

Adam Parkhomenko, married to Ally Samarco, expressed his concerns on social media, stating he wishes Swalwell and his family well and hopes they find the help they need. However, he made it clear: “If Eric Swalwell or his lawyer disrespects my wife in any way, I will pursue legal action against him.” He further challenged Swalwell, saying that if he thinks Parkhomenko’s claims are false, he should sue him immediately.

Parkhomenko emphasized the importance of careful communication in Swalwell’s statements and also suggested that the candidate should consider stepping down. Samarco is one of four women who publicly accused Swalwell of misconduct just days prior, leaving his campaign in a precarious position.

A CNN report detailed Samarco’s allegations, claiming Swalwell sent her inappropriate messages on Snapchat in 2021, even including unsolicited nude images. She recalled that Swalwell would sometimes jog near her home and invite her to visit him, making her feel “gross and uncomfortable” with his advances.

Other serious allegations surfaced, including one of rape, prompting the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office to initiate an investigation.

Following these revelations, Swalwell’s campaign experienced a swift decline, with backing withdrawn and key staff leaving. Nevertheless, Swalwell remained defiant, publicly denying the allegations in a video and asserting, “That never happened. I will fight them with everything I have.”

Swalwell’s attorney, Elias Dabaye, also appeared on CNN, suggesting there could be a Democratic plot to undermine Swalwell’s candidacy, which drew criticism from his opponents, including Parkhomenko, who believes Swalwell needs to own up to what he’s allegedly done.

Parkhomenko expressed his frustration, stating he felt a deep sense of embarrassment seeing Swalwell’s interview. It’s a complicated situation, to say the least.
