Heartbroken woman says ex-boyfriend intended to bomb a plane as revenge for their breakup

Woman Arrested for False Bomb Threat Against Ex-Boyfriend

A New Mexico woman, Brooke Ayers, 47, found herself in hot water after allegedly trying to frame her ex-boyfriend just hours after their breakup. Police report that she made a false claim about him attempting to bring a bomb onto a plane.

In a rather astonishing turn of events, Ayers supposedly contacted American Airlines last Wednesday, insisting that her ex-boyfriend intended to carry explosives on a flight leaving Roswell Air Center Airport that day.

The 34-year-old boyfriend, who had traveled from Indiana to see her, was quickly intercepted by law enforcement, who had to divert airport traffic due to the bogus bomb threat.

He was detained as authorities searched his rental car for any signs of explosives, a process that must’ve been quite tense. Fortunately, the bomb squad ultimately found no threats, and he was released.

According to Roswell police, the entire debacle followed a disagreement the previous night that ended their relationship. “It seems that Ms. Ayers made these false claims out of spite,” the police stated.

When officers later arrived at Ayers’ home, she reportedly became confrontational, raising her nails as if to threaten one of the officers. That’s definitely not a typical response, right?

Things escalated, and officers claimed Ayers attempted to use a knife during the encounter, leading to her arrest. She was charged with making a bomb threat, aggravated assault on a peace officer, and a few other serious charges.
