Trump Addresses Controversial Image
On Monday, President Donald Trump stated that a religious-themed image he shared and later removed from social media, which depicted him as healing a sick person, was merely intended to show him as a “doctor” and not as Jesus Christ.
This statement came during an unexpected press conference in the Oval Office, which started with a DoorDash delivery from McDonald’s. When asked whether he was the one who posted the image, Trump faced some skepticism. There were questions from his supporters online regarding the authenticity of the image; it’s uncertain if he shared it directly or if it was generated using artificial intelligence. Trump, however, insisted, “It was me,” asserting that he believed it related to the Red Cross efforts they support.
He expressed frustration with the media, saying, “Only fake news could come up with that news,” and clarified, “It’s supposed to be me as a doctor making people better, and I actually make people better.”
During the same event, Trump took a moment to ask a delivery driver, Sharon Simmons, about her husband, who is undergoing cancer treatment. He acknowledged the seriousness of the situation and pointed out how much support the image might bring him.
Additionally, on July 4, 2025, President Trump enacted a reconciliation bill that made the 2017 tax cuts permanent, eliminated taxes on overtime and tips, and introduced a tax credit for vehicles made in the United States.
