‘Dancing with the Stars’ professionals Artem Chigvintsev, Sharna Burgess, and Peta Murgatroyd recently shared some of the more inappropriate comments they’ve received from their celebrity dance partners.
Chigvintsev recalled one instance where a partner told him, “I want you to look at me like you want to rape me.” He reflected on how shocking that was and questioned how one should even respond to such a statement.
He continued with another bizarre commentary from a different partner, saying, “I want you to look at me like you want to punch me.” Murgatroyd humorously replied, “Yeah, baby, I’ll give it to you,” to which Chigvintsev quickly rejected with a firm, “Absolutely not.” Burgess laughed along, expressing her embarrassment and noting that such comments made her skin crawl.
Later, Murgatroyd shared a personal experience about her ex-partner making an off-color joke right before their foxtrot performance. She humorously recalled telling him to raise his arms, only for him to respond, “Oh, that’s like me fucking you from behind.” She managed to laugh it off while telling him to lift his arms properly.
Murgatroyd also mentioned another incident where a partner bluntly stated he wanted to “lick it.” She joked about her talent for just brushing off these awkward remarks and finding humor in them.
Burgess chimed in with her own story, recalling an amusing text she got from the bathroom during rehearsals. It seemed her partner was getting rather excited and needed some assistance. They all agreed that such awkward encounters were part of the job and preferred to ignore them.
While they shared these stories, they chose not to name the individuals who made these comments. It’s been a few years since they last competed on ‘Dancing with the Stars.’ Chigvintsev participated in seasons ranging from 2014 to 2023, Burgess was involved from 2011 to 2021, and Murgatroyd’s journey on the show spanned from 2011 to 2024.
