Waste management company leaves garbage in Bay Area driveway after resident didn't make payment

A trash collection company in the Bay Area is facing a significant issue with a customer who allegedly dumped a massive amount of garbage on their property after failing to pay for a dumpster rental.

Martin Perez, the owner of Express Rental Dumpster, claims that a customer from San Pablo rented a dumpster for home clean-up. However, there was a complication with the provided credit card number, and efforts to contact the customer for payment went unanswered.

“The card was declined,” Perez noted.

Despite assurances from the customer to pay later, those promises never came through.

Frustrated after numerous broken promises, Perez decided to send a driver to collect the bins full of refuse. However, instead of returning the trash, the driver unloaded all of it onto the customer’s driveway, an act captured on a Ring camera.

A neighbor called the police regarding the mess, and it was reported to the driver that he had to clean the area.

Cleanup crews arrived but, in the process, ended up spreading more trash around. Eventually, neighbors took it upon themselves to tidy up the mess, using tarpaulins to cover it.

A neighbor named Mary mentioned that the homeowner claimed to have already paid $700 for the dumpster usage.

“She said she paid $700 for this, and then out of nowhere, I saw him just throw it all on the ground. I honestly don’t know what to make of it,” Mary said.
