Kate Lohan, who is married to Lindsay Lohan’s father Michael, was taken into custody on Tuesday after allegedly attacking him, as confirmed by various sources.
Court documents indicate that she was arrested on charges of assaulting a family or household member and was later booked into the Harris County Jail in Texas, with bail set at $35,000.
Reportedly, the incident occurred while Kate, 44, was at home. The news was initially brought to light by TMZ.
Things reportedly took a turn when Kate, upset at being awakened, had a violent episode and struck Michael, resulting in a bleeding nose.
In an alarming twist, she is also said to have thrown a knife at her ex-girlfriend during the altercation. Fortunately, the knife didn’t cause any injury as it ricocheted off Michael.
Police quickly arrived and handcuffed Kate, taking her away from the scene.
According to sources, Kate and Michael were attempting to exchange children when the argument escalated. Unfortunately, it seems the situation spiraled out of control.
Both Michael and Kate have had their share of troubles; court records reveal that Kate was intoxicated at the time of her arrest and will need to undergo an alcohol test for her release conditions.
She’s also been prohibited from contacting Michael, with whom she shares two children. The details surrounding their relationship have been tumultuous over the years.
Michael’s representatives did not respond to inquiries about the incident.
It’s worth noting that Kate has a prior conviction for assaulting a family member from 2024, adding to the history of conflicts throughout their relationship.
Just last year, Michael faced similar charges after allegedly engaging in physical altercations with Kate. He was detained by police while Kate was receiving medical attention, and she claimed he had assaulted her days prior.
