Vance's Fraud Task Force Halts 400 Hospice Companies in California

Fraud Task Force Disrupts Hospices and Home Health Agencies in California

A new anti-fraud initiative spearheaded by Vice President J.D. Vance has led to the suspension of over 400 hospices and nearly 20 home health agencies in California due to questionable practices. This task force has garnered attention from the White House, which has issued stern warnings to potential fraud perpetrators.

Since launching on March 16, Vance and his team have aimed to tackle the misuse of taxpayer funds. A close source disclosed that as of March 25, the task force, in collaboration with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), identified and shut down 70 hospice and home health businesses based in Los Angeles that showed signs of fraudulent activity.

As of Wednesday, the total number of suspended hospice businesses and home health agencies in California reached 447 and 23, respectively. These suspensions have amassed more than $600 million, indicating the scale of the issue.

According to documents obtained, there’s a troubling depth of corruption in California and other Democratic-run states, where healthcare providers may be exploiting taxpayer money with minimal oversight. It seems we may only be scratching the surface.

A spokesperson for Vice President Vance stated, “If there is any wrongdoing, the task force will discover it. We won’t rest until every dollar of taxpayers’ hard-earned money goes to the honest Americans who deserve it.”

The developments in California followed an announcement in February by Vance and CMS Administrator Dr. Mehmet Oz, regarding a plan to stop $259.5 million in Medicaid funds from reaching Minnesota, amid a widely discussed fraud scheme linked to Governor Tim Walz and Attorney General Keith Ellison.

White House officials reaffirmed Vance’s office’s commitment to pursuing those suspected of such fraud. An official cautioned potential scammers, saying, “To all the scammers, do your best to hide from the Vice President’s task force. They are scrutinizing and pursuing every possible lead. The number of these suspensions and the amount of money saved will only increase.”
