After a socialite in Los Angeles caused the death of her son by speeding through a crosswalk, another mother, who is still mourning her two sons, has reacted to a disturbing message from the offender sent while in prison.
Nancy Iskander, whose sons Mark and Jacob were killed in a hit-and-run in 2020, shared her thoughts in a post last week about the inappropriate requests she received from Rebecca Grossman, the woman responsible for the tragedy.
In her post, Iskander expressed disbelief over Grossman’s request for a prison visit to “see what she’s going through,” claiming to be a “victim” herself. Iskander’s reaction was raw: “I’m trying to understand how someone could ask for that. Sure, life behind bars is tough, but I would take her place in a heartbeat if it meant my sons could be alive again.”
Iskander continued, “I would endure any hardship just to have my beautiful boys back, to see them laugh and dream, and grow into the futures they deserved.”
In March, the California Court of Appeals upheld Grossman’s conviction from 2024, ensuring she serves 15 years for the fatal crash that took the lives of the two boys. The incident occurred when Grossman’s SUV struck the young siblings at a crosswalk.
There was also some speculation regarding a nearby car driven by former Major League pitcher Scott Erickson, which raised questions about whether they were both speeding. However, he faced no charges in connection with the incident.
Grossman has been under scrutiny for allegedly attempting to access forbidden material while incarcerated. Iskander reflected on her sorrow, noting the striking contrast between the lives of her children and the affluent world Grossman was once a part of, filled with charity events and high-society gatherings.
