Mike Trout Shines at Yankee Stadium
Mike Trout had a remarkable time at Yankee Stadium during the Los Angeles Angels’ recent four-game series, making some noteworthy history along the way.
In this series, the future Hall of Famer hit five home runs and racked up nine RBIs, contributing to the Angels’ 11-4 victory on Thursday. Before this series, Trout, who is 34 years old, had only managed two home runs and seven RBIs for the season. But now, he’ll be heading back to Los Angeles feeling pretty good about his performance after this impressive showing.
Interestingly, he made history by being the first visiting player to hit home runs on four consecutive days at Yankee Stadium. According to reports, this series saw Trout tie for the most home runs ever hit in a single series against the Yankees, alongside three others—George Bell, Darrell Evans, and Jimmie Foxx.
His latest home run came in the seventh inning against Yankees relief pitcher Angel Chibili, reaching a distance of 446 feet and bringing the score to 7-4. The game also included a grand slam from Joe Adell that helped the Angels tie the series.
Trout’s first game of the series was quite exciting. He hit two homers and brought in five RBIs, despite the Yankees clinching a walk-off victory that night. Aaron Judge countered with two home runs himself, and there was a dramatic moment when Trent Grisham hit a two-run homer in the ninth inning to keep the Yankees in the game.
Trout, who has had a solid track record at Yankee Stadium over the years (including a .346 batting average and 13 home runs), has a knack for performing well there. In fact, he has homered in five consecutive games against the Yankees, including during a previous matchup in 2025.
Aaron Judge spoke highly of Trout after the recent game, referring to him as “the greatest of all time.” He noted Trout’s impressive return post-injuries, mentioning that every time he steps onto the field in the Bronx, it feels like a show.
As for the Angels, they’re relieved to see Trout starting this season free of injuries and are optimistic about the rest of the series against the Yankees. The team, currently at a .500 record of 10-10, hopes to see Trout’s stellar production continue as they aim for a playoff spot for the first time since 2014.
