Christina Applegate Hospitalized in Los Angeles
Recently, actress Christina Applegate has been reported as hospitalized in Los Angeles.
A source familiar with the situation mentioned that the actress was admitted in late March. However, her representatives have not confirmed or denied the hospitalization.
“We cannot comment on whether she is hospitalized or the nature of her treatment,” a representative stated. They highlighted that Applegate has a history of complex medical issues, which she candidly discusses in her memoir and podcast.
Since her diagnosis of multiple sclerosis in 2021 while filming, Applegate has been open about her struggles with the condition.
In her podcast, Applegate co-hosts with Jamie-Lynn Sigler, who was also diagnosed with MS at 20. Sigler mentioned in a brief update to listeners on March 31 that she would take a “several week hiatus” to work on their book. Applegate’s memoir, You Have Sad Eyes, has just been released, while Sigler’s book, And That Is…: A Memoir of Acceptance and Hope, is set to debut on May 5.
Sigler did not provide a timeline for when new podcast episodes would resume, only stating, “We’ll be back in a few weeks.”
In a recent essay, Applegate shared her experiences with MS, discussing symptoms like “extreme fatigue” and challenges such as walking across a room. She reflected on her past battle with cancer, noting that while it was removed from her body, MS remains a daunting challenge.
“The cancer was removed from my body and I was able to move forward. But MS is my constant companion,” she expressed. “Honestly, everything about it sucks.” She also revealed that the IV treatment affected her B cells, making her more vulnerable to infections.
Her last social media post was on April 2, celebrating the success of her audiobook, which became a New York Times bestseller. “Thank you for making this You Have Sad Eyes #1 for March,” she expressed, sharing her gratitude with listeners.
