WrestleMania 42: WWE star Danhausen still unable to break Mets' 'curse'

WWE Star Danhausen and the Mets’ “Curse”

Las Vegas – WWE personality Danhausen has captured attention with his quirky style since his debut at Elimination Chamber back in February.

Known for his unique ability to “curse” opponents, Danhausen’s antics have impacted several WWE stars including Dominik Mysterio, Kit Wilson, and The Miz. Interestingly, the New York Mets seem to be affected too.

Earlier this week, former WWE writer Brian Gewirtz, who is also a passionate Mets supporter, reached out to Danhausen on social media. He suggested that if Danhausen could lift the “curse” on the Mets, he would go all out to get his face on a WWE truck.

Danhausen mentioned that Gewirtz even had a contract and was eager to see him in action. Unfortunately, it looks like no final deal was established.

“I managed to break the Mets curse. Sort of,” Danhausen shared with FOX News Digital on Friday morning. “But it didn’t take full effect, maybe because Brian Gewirtz didn’t send me the payment. Honestly, I think if I had the funds, it’d probably be completely effective. Right now, it feels like it’s on layaway or something.” His lightheartedness shines through—could finances really be the root of the “curse”?

Just hours later, the Mets ended up losing 12-4 against the Chicago Cubs, marking their ninth consecutive defeat.

The Cubs battled with their own “Billy Goat Curse” for years before breaking through to win the World Series in 2016. For now, it seems the Mets might need to keep grappling with Danhausen’s supposed hex.

On a different note, Danhausen is gearing up for what could be a significant moment in his career—his first appearance at WrestleMania, where reports indicate he’ll have at least one match against John Cena during the event.
