Rep. Tom Emmer labels Ilhan Omar as a ‘total fraud’ following issues with her disclosures

Ilhan Omar labels Trump as an 'unbalanced fool' and demands his removal from office

Emmer Critiques Omar Amid Financial Disclosure Controversy

Rep. Tom Emmer (R-Minn.) took a strong stance against Rep. Ilhan Omar on Saturday, labeling her a “total fraudster.” His comments came in light of ongoing scrutiny regarding the discrepancies in her financial disclosures and the associated fraud investigation.

During an appearance on The Big Weekend Show, Emmer stated, “Not only should her accountant be fired, that girl should be fired too; she doesn’t deserve to be an MP.” He further emphasized that if evidence surfaces implicating Omar in the fraud or showing that she benefitted from it, she should face severe consequences.

Emmer’s focus was particularly on Omar’s recent financial disclosures, which have raised eyebrows due to reports suggesting that her net worth was grossly inflated.

Omar’s team has firmly denied any allegations of being a billionaire, attributing the discrepancies to a significant accounting mistake. Initial Congressional disclosures indicated her assets could be as high as $30 million, provoking skepticism from Republicans and watchdog groups alike.

Recent amendments to tax returns, as noted by The Wall Street Journal, indicate that Omar and her husband’s actual worth is between $18,004 and $95,000—a stark contrast to earlier figures that suggested wealth in the millions. “The revised disclosure confirms what we have said all along: Congressmen are not billionaires,” said Jacquelyn Rogers, Omar’s spokeswoman, asserting that corrections were made promptly once discrepancies were detected.

In a related note, Emmer criticized Minnesota officials Tim Walz and Keith Ellison, suggesting they too should face imprisonment if the cover-up allegations prove accurate.

Fox News Digital reached out to Omar’s office for further comments but did not receive a response.

Additionally, Rep. James Comer (R-Ky.), chairman of the House Oversight Committee, weighed in during a Sunday broadcast, stating that Omar’s push for an investigation by the House Ethics Committee appears conflicted given her involvement in the Somali fraud case. “We shouldn’t do that… although she is a member of the oversight committee,” Comer remarked, highlighting concerns over potential bias.

He concluded by stating that the Ethics Committee likely has many questions for Omar, especially now that the financial disclosure has changed. Efforts will continue to ensure she is held accountable.
