Argentina and Israel finalize Isaac Accords with U.S. support.

Argentina and Israel Forge New Accord

On Sunday in Jerusalem, leaders from Argentina and Israel unveiled the Isaac Accord, aimed at bolstering diplomatic and commercial relationships between their nations.

This initiative has been framed as a follow-up to the Abraham Accords, which were championed by President Donald Trump to establish connections between Israel and various Arab countries. Argentine President Javier Milei and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu celebrated the Isaac Accord, inviting other Latin American countries to get involved.

The agreement seeks to foster peace and enhance long-term stability, security, and economic growth as stated by Argentina’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Milei, who was instrumental in shaping the Isaac Accords, praised the earlier Abraham Accords and highlighted Trump’s dedication to achieving peace in the Middle East. According to statements from the Argentine presidential office, Milei asserted that Trump’s leadership is essential for alleviating regional instability.

U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee, present at the Jerusalem event, expressed his admiration for both leaders.

“It’s genuinely a privilege to stand here alongside two of President Trump’s notable friends. I can’t think of two leaders whom he respects and relates to more than President Milei and Prime Minister Netanyahu,” Huckabee remarked during a press conference.

Connecting the new agreement to its biblical namesake, Milei referred to Isaac as Abraham’s son, suggesting the aim to replicate that spirit in Latin America. He noted the agreement’s focus on combating terrorism, anti-Semitism, and drug trafficking.

In conjunction with the accord, the two nations signed several memorandums to deepen collaboration across various sectors. When it was revealed there would be direct flights between Israel and Argentina, Huckabee humorously remarked that he wanted to be the first to purchase a ticket.

“My reasoning is quite straightforward: I want to bring a large freezer to stock up on some of the finest Argentine beef,” he joked.

Milei also communicated his plans to possibly relocate the Argentine embassy to Jerusalem when conditions allow.

The leaders stressed common values and ethical objectives, actively urging other Western Hemisphere countries to join their initiative.

“I’m confident that, with our shared moral clarity and strong partnership—especially with the United States—we can achieve our goals and bring more hope and light to the free peoples worldwide,” Netanyahu stated.

Huckabee reiterated the leaders’ commitment to moral clarity and referenced the Judeo-Christian principles that unite the U.S., Israel, and Argentina.

The timing of the announcement was notable, occurring amid ongoing tensions with Iran, which have escalated since late February. U.S. actions against the Islamic Republic have been frequent. Trump and U.S. officials have continuously emphasized that dismantling Iran’s nuclear program is a pivotal goal in their campaign.

Huckabee touched on these conflicts, suggesting that while the U.S. president is dedicated to peace, he acknowledges the necessity of military action to achieve it.

“President Trump has played a vital role in shifting global dynamics, turning swords into plowshares. But let me clarify: without a sword, there can be no plowshare,” Huckabee explained.

“The sword paves the way for peace and facilitates the agricultural endeavors that ultimately nourish us,” he added.
