Minnesota dad Chris Ostroushko reconsidering life in the US after confrontational encounter with TPUSA reporter

A father from Minnesota, accused of attacking a conservative journalist at an anti-ICE protest, has expressed feeling overwhelmed by the ongoing backlash affecting his family.

“To be honest, all of this is quite overwhelming and is making me think twice about living in this country,” Chris Ostroshko shared in an interview with One America News Network. “I’ve never faced something like this before.”

He mentioned receiving “hundreds of calls, texts, and social media messages each day” from relatives and neighbors since the incident.

On April 11, Ostroshko was recorded arguing with reporter Savana Hernandez from Turning Point USA alongside his wife Deyanna and daughter Paige outside Whippleville, Minnesota.

Hernandez indicated that she was covering the Fk ICE Day protests when she realized she was affiliated with a conservative group and found herself surrounded by demonstrators.

According to her, the protesters were aggressive. Chris and Paige reportedly attacked her, with a video showing Chris pushing Hernandez to the ground.

In a previous discussion, Ostroshko claimed he was protecting his family and placed blame on Hernandez for the altercation, stating, “We’re not violent people. We actually try to avoid violence,” during a podcast interview last week.

The Ostroshko family alleged that their personal details have been leaked, they faced defamation, and they lost their jobs after the video gained traction online. They also claimed that Paige suffered a neck injury due to police intervention.

In response to their situation, they started a GoFundMe campaign with a target of $8,000, but have only managed to raise over $300 so far.

Hernandez reported to Fox News Digital that, upon seeking medical attention, she was diagnosed with a concussion and multiple sprains.

Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon and Vice President J.D. Vance confirmed that the FBI has initiated an investigation into the event.

The Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office stated that the investigation is ongoing and has recommended charges against both Paige and Christopher Ostroshko related to the journalist’s assault.

Charges from the Hennepin County Attorney, Mary Moriarty, have yet to be announced, and the Sheriff’s Office did not respond immediately to requests for comment.
