A tragic accident occurred on a highway in Irwindale early Saturday morning when a semi-truck lost control. The vehicle crossed the median on Highway 210 and collided with multiple cars, resulting in the death of one woman and leaving many others injured.

Footage from a dashboard camera showcases the moments leading up to the disaster near Irwindale, showing the truck veering off the shoulder and crossing into oncoming traffic.

The truck ended up jackknifing, causing significant lane closures in both directions and scattering debris across the highway.

A video shared on the Citizen app captured the chaos that ensued, with emergency responders quickly arriving on scene. Authorities later reported that a 58-year-old woman had died from her injuries. In total, 32 people were hurt, with 10 needing hospitalization, six of whom were children.

The California Highway Patrol indicated that at least three vehicles were involved, though it remains unclear how many in total were affected. The significant response caused traffic disruptions for several hours, with all lanes reopening after 3 PM on Saturday.

Investigators are currently looking into the reasons behind the truck’s loss of control and have reached out to the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office for further details.
