Myrtle Beach stabbing suspect faces assault charges and has a long criminal record.

Stabbing Incident Shakes Myrtle Beach

The beach town of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, is on edge following a recent stabbing, as reported by local authorities.

Police were called to 1004 S. Ocean Blvd. around 8:33 a.m. on Sunday after receiving reports of a stabbing. Two individuals suffered injuries in the incident; one was transported to a hospital, while the other received treatment at the scene.

According to a police update, Jeffrey Alonzo Cait, 68, has been charged with two counts of aggravated assault and battery, along with possession of a weapon during a violent crime. He is currently held at the J. Reuben Long Detention Center. Booking records indicate that Cait has a significant criminal history, being detained there at least four times since June 2025. His prior charges include trespassing and assaulting a police officer.

Investigators shared that the male victim indicated an argument earlier between Cait and a woman escalated, which led to the suspect pulling a knife and stabbing him in the leg. While one victim was hospitalized, paramedics treated the other at the location.

The investigation is ongoing, and law enforcement is reaching out for any additional information from the public.
