Camila Giorgi’s Tennis Comeback on the Horizon

There’s quite a buzz in the tennis community surrounding Camila Giorgi, the Italian player who quietly exited the sport back in May 2024. She plans to return to tennis next year after leaving without any formal goodbyes or announcements. Her name just showed up on the retirement list months after her last match.

The circumstances of her retirement sparked various speculations. Initially, it was believed she left to focus on her career as a lingerie model. Then there were rumors about her relocating to the United States, possibly due to tax issues in Florence.

Allegations swirled around her and her family, suggesting they had issues with tax returns, unpaid rent, and even furniture theft. Giorgi dismissed these claims as false, maintaining her retirement had been brewing for quite some time.

“Being a tennis player is a tough life. I’d been wanting to quit for years,” she explained. “I’d procrastinated on it, but one morning in May, I made the decision and told my dad.”

Fast forward to now, and there’s renewed excitement about her return. In a recent Instagram Q&A, she confirmed she is planning to come back. When a fan asked her if she would be re-entering tournament play, she simply replied, “Yes, in 2027.”

Another follower inquired whether she was considering a WTA circuit return, and her answer was again in the affirmative—“Yes, in 2027.”

Currently, Giorgi is married and has seemingly put retirement rumors to rest as she prepares to rejoin the tennis scene. However, she won’t be returning this year—she’s expecting a baby. Her life is anything but dull, filled with excitement, drama, and, of course, her modeling career.
