‘All I Want Is to Go Home’: Erika Kirk Spotted Crying Following Trump Assassination Attempt After Her Husband’s Murder

Incident at White House Correspondents’ Dinner

Erica Kirk, CEO of Turning Point USA, left the White House Correspondents’ Dinner in tears after a serious incident involving a gunman. This dramatic moment occurred shortly after she managed to prevent an attack.

Tyler Robinson faces capital murder charges in Utah, accused of shooting and killing Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk during a “Prove Me Wrong” event at Utah Valley University back on September 10. A brief video posted by CNN News Central co-host Sarah Sydner, who was at the event, captured Erica’s emotional response as well.

“I just want to go home,” a visibly shaken Erica Kirk reportedly said while being escorted by security, as shared by Sydner.

Authorities confirmed that a gun was fired, and Erica Kirk was present at the event. She reacted quickly during the chaos. U.S. Secret Service agents evacuated President Donald Trump, First Lady Melania Trump, Vice President J.D. Vance, and other senior officials from the ballroom at the Washington Hilton after shots were fired. This marked Trump’s first appearance at the annual event during his presidency.

Due to what was described as “a very serious threat,” Erica Kirk canceled her scheduled appearance at a Turning Point USA event on April 14. TPUSA spokesperson Andrew Corbett conveyed this information, highlighting the gravity of the situation.

“I was really looking forward to tonight’s event,” Kirk mentioned, expressing her disappointment while emphasizing the importance of taking security advice seriously. She conveyed gratitude for the support towards her Georgia chapter, declaring “God bless you all!”

This isn’t the first time President Trump has faced danger; he has survived two assassination attempts during the 2024 campaign—one at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, and another while golfing in West Palm Beach, Florida.
