Boca Bash 2026 Draws Huge Crowds to Florida Waters
Boaters and partygoers gathered in Boca Raton, Florida, for the annual Boca Bash on April 26, 2026. This vibrant event saw an impressive lineup of vessels, from luxurious yachts to speedy jet skis.
This year, the infamous party attracted thousands of revelers, many donning bikinis, while also encountering a significant increase in law enforcement presence. Held on the last Sunday of April, the event, which does not require tickets, takes place on Lake Boca Raton, nestled along the southeastern coast of the Sunshine State.
Local resident CJ Thomas remarked, “I can definitely say there’s a huge law enforcement presence this year.” He pointed out that boat launches have been impacted, with many closed from Delray to Fort Lauderdale. Another attendee, Taylor Thomas, noted the presence of undercover police officers.
A city spokesperson clarified that Boca Raton is not officially involved in organizing the event. However, it collaborates with community partners, including the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, to ensure public safety and effective enforcement. One individual was arrested for suspected DUI, and preliminary reports indicated that FWC officers made three arrests over the weekend—two for DUI and one for battery. Authorities also dealt with six boat collisions, but fortunately, there were no serious injuries.
Reflecting on past tragedies, the event has faced scrutiny in recent years. In 2018, a 32-year-old woman, Frances Roselyn, drowned during the festival. Friends of Roselyn recounted their desperate search after she fell behind while swimming. Sadly, her body was later recovered from the water, leading to a wrongful death lawsuit filed by her girlfriend against the city for alleged negligence in crowd management.
In a more recent incident from 2024, a viral video showed teenagers throwing trash overboard, which ignited community outrage. The Boca Bash Facebook page condemned their actions, expressing anger and disappointment. The teens eventually turned themselves in to authorities and faced charges for causing pollution.
One of the parents of the teenagers later issued an apology, emphasizing their commitment to caring for the ocean and community and expressing regret for the negative impact of the actions at Boca Bash.
