VIDEO: Pro-abortion supporter is challenged by a single straightforward question from a Republican

Viral Moment in Abortion Debate

A video featuring a Republican lawmaker posing a straightforward question to a pro-abortion activist has gained significant traction on social media.

Texas Representative Brandon Gill inquired of reproductive rights expert Jessica L. Waters about her preferred method of abortion, to which she declined to respond.

“If I were you, I wouldn’t want to talk about this because it’s barbaric and evil,” he stated at one point.

Waters was providing testimony in support of the FACE Act, which has been utilized by the Biden administration to enhance legal actions against pro-life activists who protest at abortion facilities.

Gill pressed her with, “You are an advocate for abortion and abortion policy. What is your favorite type of abortion?”

Waters replied, “I support patients having access to the full spectrum of reproductive health care.”

However, Gill sought clarity again, asking, “But is there a method of abortion that you prefer?”

“Not really,” she responded.

Eventually, Gill elaborated on a specific method: “The first type is called a suction abortion, where the cervix dilates and the baby’s body is torn apart with suction that is 29 times more powerful than a household vacuum cleaner. Do you prefer that method?” Again, she didn’t answer.

Undeterred, Gill changed approaches. “Okay, how about this? It’s called dilation and curettage. After the cervix is dilated, a sharp, knife-like instrument is used to cut the baby into small pieces. Do you prefer that method?”

Waters again attempted to deflect the question, prompting Gill to ask, “Why don’t you want to talk about abortion itself?”

He described another method called dilation and evacuation and questioned, “Is it better that way?”

Waters redirected the conversation back to her testimony, insisting, “I would like to discuss why the hearing was called.”

Gill stated, “This is the subject of the hearing. This is about a protest outside an abortion clinic. I’m hearing about abortion.”

Waters concluded with, “I stand by my previous testimony,” to which Gill retorted, “If I were you, I wouldn’t want to talk about this because it’s barbaric and evil.”

Following the session, Gill shared a video of his questioning, which has sparked a lot of conversation online.

One commentator remarked, “This is the biggest question I’ve ever seen in Congress.”
