Incident at Kent State University Involving Turning Point USA
A video from April 28 surfaced on social media, showing students seemingly mocking the assassination of Charlie Kirk and defacing a Turning Point USA table at Kent State University, Ohio.
The clip, captured by Brady McGiffin and shared by @FrontlinesTPUSA, features a female student approaching the table with scissors. She then pops a balloon, while another student tries to move the balloon away. The first student carries on, popping more balloons and making comments about Kirk, all while a male student records the scene.
One of the remarks included, “Fuck you, too,” in reference to the Kirk assassination. Turning Point USA called the event “unsettling” in their social media caption. As of now, the video has garnered over 500,000 views.

Kent State University released a statement on the matter, noting, “Kent State University is aware of an incident today in the Student Center Plaza where an individual confronted a student group exercising their right to free expression. The individual used scissors to pop the group’s balloons and directed profanity at the students. Such destructive and violent behavior will not be tolerated at Kent State University, and University Police are currently investigating the matter.”
This is not the first time that students affiliated with Turning Point USA have faced hostility on campus. In October 2025, a teaching assistant at Illinois State University reportedly overturned a table and tore apart a flyer promoting a Turning Point USA event.
Charlie Kirk was tragically shot and killed on September 10, 2025, during a lecture at Utah Valley University. Tyler Robinson, 22, has been charged with aggravated murder and other offenses related to Kirk’s death. Robinson had developed an interest in politics and was in a relationship with a transgender male roommate at the time, according to his mother and authorities.
