Disney artist known for famous theme park designs cautions thief who broke into Palm Springs residence

A prominent artist, who’s collaborated with Disney Parks for quite some time, reported that a tiki sculpture was stolen from his residence in Palm Springs. He even cautioned the thieves that they might be cursed for their actions.

Josh Agle, who goes by the name Shag, revealed on Instagram that one of the tiki dolls outside his home had been taken.

“This tiki was a gift from someone who crafted it based on the tiki in my painting,” he shared.

He added, “I know it’s a long shot, but if the person who has this is reading this, please bring it back and everything will be forgiven. Otherwise, the spirit within that tiki may make your life miserable. Think about what you’ve done. Greg Brady found out the hard way, and you will too.”

The tiki, created in Shag’s distinctive geometric style, embodies his “Tiki Modern” aesthetic mixed with a contemporary flair.

The home, often referred to as the “Shag House,” is a reimagined Alexander-style mansion built in 1958, which Shag describes as a “life-size painting.”

In partnership with homeowner Brandon McBurney, this three-bedroom, two-bathroom residence showcases vibrant colors, themed spaces, and personalized details that capture a retro cocktail party vibe.

The striking entry features Mondrian-inspired green gates and an oversized chartreuse exterior, creating a deliberately theatrical first impression.

Shag’s signature color palette—lime green, orange, aqua, purple, and white—along with geometric designs and bold architectural lines, gives visitors an immersive experience.

Each aspect, from the landscaping to the interior fixtures, has been meticulously chosen to reflect the artist’s stylized mid-century art.
