Shiloh Sanders Critiques Coverage of Browns by Mary Kay Cabot
Shiloh Sanders doesn’t seem too impressed with Mary Kay Cabot’s analysis of the Cleveland Browns.
On Wednesday, the Cleveland.com Instagram account featured a video where Cabot, a veteran beat writer, stated that Deshaun Watson should take the starting quarterback position for the Browns, over Shiloh’s younger brother, Shedur.
In response to the video, Shiloh chimed in with a comment: “Let’s go make a sandwich Mary.”
Cabot, who received the Bill Nunn Memorial Award in 2025, chose to respond to what some perceived as misogynistic remarks with grace. She expressed, “I truly believe that I have inspired many women and young girls to know they can thrive in a man’s world and succeed professionally.” She shared these thoughts during an appearance on Cleveland’s 92.3 The Fan.
She added, “I know many women who’ve entered the football arena, largely because of what I’ve accomplished over the years, and that really makes me happy.”
Cabot feels she has played a vital role in paving the way for future women in sports. “I’m proud to have set a tone for others and opened some doors. I think that’s continuing.”
Despite Cabot’s perspective, Shedur remains a strong contender for the Browns’ starter alongside Watson and newcomer Dillon Gabriel. Coach Todd Monken discussed this after the team selected Taylen Green from Arkansas in the sixth round.
Monken remarked, “Let’s clarify what competition entails at each position. Every player on our roster will be competing. We’ll need a depth chart for all of them. Everyone has a shot, but, of course, not everyone will get the same number of reps, which is part of the competitive process.”
As for Shiloh, it seems he has other pressing issues concerning his football career. The linebacker, who once played with Shedur’s father, Pro Football Hall of Famer Deion Sanders, at the University of Colorado, joined the Buccaneers after going undrafted. Unfortunately, he was expelled from training camp following an incident where he punched an opponent.
His struggles continued as he did not play for the 49ers and later faced a lawsuit from a law firm for unpaid fees.
