JPMorgan Chase Executive Accused of Sexual Abuse and Threats
An executive at JPMorgan Chase & Co. faces serious allegations of sexually abusing a junior male colleague and issuing threats regarding his career.
The accused, Lorna Hadjidini, serves as the executive director of NDTV, which is part of the leveraged finance division at JPMorgan Chase. A recent report brought the situation to light.
According to what seems to be her LinkedIn profile, Hadjidini graduated from New York University’s Stern School of Business and holds certification from Harvard Business School.
A lawsuit filed in New York County Supreme Court claims she engaged in sexual abuse, racial harassment, and professional coercion against the unnamed man.
It’s described in the report that Hadjidini allegedly referred to the married banker as a “brown Indian boy,” purportedly drugged him, and threatened his career if he did not comply with her demands for “non-consensual and humiliating sexual acts,” starting early in 2024.
One accusation includes her allegedly inviting him out for drinks, and when he declined, she threatened, “If you don’t fuck me right away, I’m going to destroy you. Never forget, I own you.” There are also claims that she threatened to “make him pay” for his refusals.
The man reportedly gave in due to fear, but his objections were overheard by someone in a nearby room. The complaint suggests Hadjidini may have used drugs like Rohypnol to facilitate these acts.
Furthermore, JPMorgan Chase is accused of retaliating against the man after he raised concerns about the alleged abuse. A report indicated that he was placed on involuntary leave, denied access to company systems, and received anonymous threats.
A spokesperson for the bank noted that while an investigation is underway, leadership reportedly does not find the allegations credible, stating that the man has not provided sufficient evidence.
A profile on Hadjidini from Harvard Business School indicates she has developed a career in leveraged finance, working with complex financing for private equity and corporate clients across various sectors.
The attorney for the accuser, Daniel J. Kaiser, stated that the allegations have led to significant personal and professional fallout for his client, who has reportedly been diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) as a result.
The lawsuit seeks damages for emotional distress, lost income, and reputational harm, including punitive damages and changes within the organization.
