Tacoma High School Incident Leaves Six Injured

In Tacoma, Washington, police have taken a suspect into custody after a violent episode at Henry Foss High School that resulted in injuries to six individuals on Thursday afternoon.

As of 4:28 p.m. PT, the suspect’s identity has not been released.

Responding to a 911 call about a possible stabbing, officers arrived at around 1:30 p.m. What they found was a scene of turmoil involving four students, a campus security guard, and the suspect, as noted by Tacoma Fire Department spokeswoman Chelsea Shepherd and police spokeswoman Officer Shelby Boyd.

Five of the injured individuals were quickly transported to a nearby hospital, with at least four reported to be in critical condition. The suspect was also taken for evaluation, but his injuries were not life-threatening, and he remains under police guard.

A campus security guard suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene.

While the investigation is still ongoing, details regarding the weapon and location of the attack remain unclear. However, a student witness indicated that the conflict might have begun over a dispute involving a vape pen.

By 2:30 p.m., Officer Boyd reassured the public that the situation was secure and that the immediate threat had subsided. The school was placed on lockdown, and a designated area was set up in the parking lot for parents to collect their children.

“So this guy took somebody’s vape pen, and they didn’t like it,” a student recounted. “They tried to jump him or something. He had a knife and, well, there were multiple injuries.” This student mentioned she hadn’t witnessed the event but heard about it from others.

As investigations continue, protocols for safety are being upheld at the school.
