Democratic Party Organizing May Day Activities with Communist Groups

May Day Protests Mobilizing Across the U.S.

Reports indicate that around 600 communist and extremist groups, with connections to the Democratic Party, are preparing for May Day demonstrations nationwide. These organizations claim to have organized roughly 3,000 protests and events that together generate nearly $2 billion annually, advocating for what they label as “anti-American policies.”

Protesters are encouraging Americans to avoid work, school, and shopping on this day.

The origins of “May Day” trace back to 19th-century labor movements, specifically the International Workers’ Day first observed in 1890 to memorialize workers who lost their lives during the 1886 protests in Chicago.

According to the reports:

The current May Day mobilization, which has taken on a new scale, is driven by a coalition of communist, socialist, Marxist, and other far-left groups. This includes factions like the Democratic Socialists of America, the People’s Forum, the Party for Socialism and Liberation, Answer Coalition, and Code Pink, which is notably supported by tech entrepreneur Neville Roy Singham. They’ve been accused of promoting propaganda linked to the Chinese Communist Party.

Additionally, the Communist Party of the United States has been distributing materials from the Marxist-Leninist publication People’s World, urging workers to “oppose MAGA on May Day.” The Revolutionary Communist Party is pushing for the dismantling of “capitalist and imperialist systems,” while the Maoist Communist League is asking its members to join an “anti-imperialist contingent” at protests in New York City.

Unlike in previous decades, Democrats appear to be forming closer ties with these extremist groups through organizations like Indivisible, MoveOn.org, and affiliations with the American Federation of Teachers, among others.

The protests are slated for locations such as Washington, D.C., Chicago, and over 20 other U.S. cities, including Indio, California, known for hosting the Coachella music festival.

One Democratic figure warned that aligning with these extremist groups could prove risky for the Democratic Party.

“The increasing willingness of mainstream Democrats to align with radical socialist groups is playing a significant role in why the Democratic Party is drifting away from the center, leaving many lifelong Democrats feeling politically homeless,” said strategist Melissa DeRosa.

“May Day has a respected history of honoring workers,” she added, “but far too many Democratic organizations have let that tradition be co-opted by a small group of activists, including those aligned with the Democratic Socialists of America, promoting unrealistic policies that have failed wherever implemented.”
