Former JPMorgan employee charged with creating false sex-assault allegations reportedly sought guidance from a legal chatbot saying, 'I was raped'

A former JPMorgan employee, who has been accused of making false sexual harassment claims against a female executive, sought guidance from a legal chatbot about a year ago.

Chirayu Rana, who recently filed a now-retracted lawsuit against Lorna Hadjidini—alleging she coerced him into “sex slavery”—identified himself as an active online user of a legal advice platform called AskALawyerOnCall.com around ten months ago, possibly in July.

In what appears to be an interaction with the chatbot, Rana reportedly stated, “I was raped and sexually assaulted… My former boss at Morgan Stanley harassed me and forced me to give him drugs.”

Allegedly facing retaliation for trying to rearrange a team within the company, he claimed he was pressured into signing a separation agreement following a flawed HR investigation.

The chatbot interaction identified his alleged harasser as “he,” featuring exchanges that highlighted significant issues faced by users of the service. The platform included a disclaimer reminding users that the dialogues aren’t confidential.

The bot inquired whether the separation agreement included a clause barring Rana from suing or discussing the case publicly. He reportedly acknowledged the presence of “sufficient evidence” of distress but added, “Yes, but I was coerced into signing it.”

Rana joined JPMorgan’s leveraged finance team in early 2024 and submitted a whistleblower complaint against Hadjidini in May 2025, though the bank concluded there was no wrongdoing.

In conversation with someone purporting to be an attorney named “Joycelaw,” he shared details about the alleged harassment, which conflicted with his claims in the recently dropped lawsuit, suggesting a male perpetrator.

Rana stated, “I was sexually assaulted, harassed and even forced to use drugs by my former boss.” In a message, he expressed the emotional toll it took on him, saying, “It’s been really hard to deal with… I signed because I was scared and thought I had no other choice.”

He indicated that false narratives about him were spread at work, undermining his reputation. The timeline of the allegations seemed ambiguous, with online advisers noting the incidents occurred years before he joined the company.

Rana reportedly expressed interest in pursuing legal action against JPMorgan, even after resigning from his role as president within Bregal Sagemount three weeks prior to the lawsuit.

His legal filing, submitted under the pseudonym John Doe, accused Hadjidini of making him a “sex slave” through drugs and threats. It also alleged that she appeared uninvited at his residence, forcing him into sexual acts.

Hadjidini’s attorney stated she “categorically denies” all allegations, asserting that she never acted inappropriately towards Rana and had never been to the location described in the claims.

Rana, a Rutgers graduate, was previously reported as facing racial and gender-based harassment at JPMorgan, as well as abuse of power while attempting to negotiate a considerable financial settlement.

His lawsuit additionally names JPMorgan Chase, accusing the institution of retaliation and a failure to conduct a thorough investigation into his complaints.

Bank officials stated that a comprehensive internal review found no evidence supporting Rana’s claims, and that he had declined to provide crucial facts during the investigation.

Colleagues of Hadjidini maintained that she was considered a leading performer at JPMorgan and expressed disbelief over the allegations from Rana.

Attempts to reach Rana for comments were unsuccessful.
