Pat Sajak Meets Maggie Sajak’s New Boyfriend
Jackson Olson, a player for the Savannah Bananas, recently met Pat Sajak, the famous host of “Wheel of Fortune,” who happens to be his girlfriend Maggie Sajak’s dad. In an interview with US Weekly, Olson shared that he was understandably nervous about this meeting.
He described Pat as “a wonderful person,” acknowledging the blend of excitement and anxiety that comes with meeting a partner’s parents. “Anyone is nervous about meeting the father, mother, or both,” he remarked.
Interestingly, Olson considers himself a “weird person,” mentioning that meeting Pat has encouraged him to be more authentic. “I’m not going to hold back on who I am, and people seem to enjoy my company,” he said, clearly feeling relieved to express his true self.
Despite being 28 years old, Olson reflected on how this encounter helped him embrace who he is at this stage in his life. He also mentioned that he and Maggie confirmed their relationship on social media, sharing a sweet Disneyland photo together with the caption “Applications are closed.”
Living on opposite coasts—Olson in Savannah, Georgia, and Maggie in Los Angeles—hasn’t deterred them. Olson expressed that they’ve managed to maintain a solid relationship despite the miles between them. “All that matters is making plans and having time to see each other for those great experiences,” he noted, feeling that the start of a relationship is a unique moment.
In a revealing moment, he admitted to feeling nervous when Maggie cheers from the stands at his games. “I want my parents to be proud, but right now I want to make McGee proud, too,” he shared. He emphasized his good intentions and the importance of being seen as a good person.
Olson is Maggie’s first public boyfriend since her breakup with Scottish actor Ross McCall. The two first sparked romance rumors in April 2024. Maggie has also carved out a niche for herself as a social media correspondent for “Wheel of Fortune,” a position she’s held since fall 2021.
It’s clear that both Olson and Maggie cherish their relationship while balancing long-distance challenges, showing a refreshing take on modern romance.
