The construction noise at the Rose Bowl is soon to give way to something different.
The new field-level end zone club is shaping up to be quite the attraction for UCLA football fans.
“This is going to be a great place,” stated Rose Bowl General Manager Derek Doolittle.
During a tour of the still-under-construction club, Doolittle highlighted the reception area designed in a bootlegger style, along with the 360-degree bar modeled after the Rose Bowl itself.
For those sitting in the approximately 1,000 available seats, there’s the unique chance to high-five UCLA players as they come through the tunnel. The seating options include both luxurious outdoor areas and a climate-controlled indoor space, which will be appealing on hot Pasadena afternoons.
“It’s crucial for us to be close to what our fans want, and they want to be near the action,” mentioned Evan Gates, UCLA Athletics Associate Director.
Doolittle indicated that the club should be ready by September 12, just in time for the Bruins’ home opener against San Diego State. However, the construction will lead to a slight decrease in stadium capacity, bringing it down from 89,000 to about 85,000.
Fans will also be able to view the post-game press conference through a glass wall, with audio piped in through speakers.
The menu is set to include barbecue pulled pork sliders, West Coast chicken tenders, and a hot dog bar with toppings, all intended to elevate the tailgating experience. While the seat prices cover food, drinks will be extra.
Access to the club, estimated at $28.5 million, doesn’t come cheap.
Tickets start at $2,520 for club seats and go up to $2,765 for spots closer to the field, which include extra table space for food. Premium log seats are priced at $3,605 and offer personal TVs along with in-seat beverage service.
UCLA will retain the revenue from these seat sales under its agreement with the Rose Bowl.
Purchasing club seats also grants VIP parking in Lot K (one pass for every four seats) and early entry to the venue.
