Rudy Giuliani, the former mayor of New York City, is currently in the hospital and is reported to be in serious but stable condition, according to a spokesperson from President Trump’s team.
“He is in critical but stable condition,” the spokesperson noted.
“Rudy Giuliani is a warrior who has faced numerous challenges with remarkable strength. He is fighting this current battle with the same resolve. We invite everyone to join us in praying for America’s Mayor,” the spokesperson continued.
Details about the specific illness affecting the 81-year-old Giuliani are not yet clear.
Following the news of his hospitalization, Trump shared his thoughts on Truth Social. He referred to Giuliani as “wonderful” and affirmed his status as “the greatest mayor New York City has ever had.” Trump expressed his sorrow over Giuliani’s treatment by “the lunatics on the radical left and all the Democrats,” asserting that Giuliani had been correct in his views and lamenting the difficulties he faced.
Current Mayor Eric Adams expressed his wishes for Giuliani’s quick recovery, stating, “While we may not always see eye to eye politically, this moment transcends politics. We wish Rudy Giuliani strength, health, and a full recovery in light of his public service.” Adams emphasized Giuliani’s dedication through various roles, especially during the challenges of 9/11, highlighting the sacrifices and resilience required in public service, which, regardless of political differences, deserve respect.
Our thoughts remain with Giuliani and his family.
