Rudy Giuliani’s Health Update

Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani is now breathing independently after being removed from a ventilator, according to his doctor. Dr. Maria Ryan noted that he has approximately “nine years” left to live following what appears to be a dramatic recovery from a critical illness.

Giuliani fell ill after returning from a trip to Paris, leading to significant breathing issues that necessitated hospitalization and the use of a ventilator. At one point, his condition was so dire that a priest was called in to administer last rites.

However, by Tuesday, his health had improved enough for the medical team to take him off the ventilator. He is currently stable, though still in critical condition, and is able to breathe and speak without assistance.

Dr. Ryan expressed optimism regarding his recovery, referring to it as almost miraculous given his recent critical state. “He’s a fighter,” she stated, highlighting the support he’s received from friends and well-wishers.

Giuliani’s spokesperson mentioned his long history of health challenges, which include exposure to debris from the 9/11 attacks and a diagnosis of restrictive airway disease. Notably, he suffered serious injuries in a car accident in New Hampshire last August, including a fractured vertebra and multiple lacerations; despite that, he remained active in public life.

Ted Goodman, a representative for Giuliani, confirmed in a video that he is now in “serious but stable condition.” He also referred to Giuliani as the “ultimate warrior” in light of the recent health challenges.

Doctors will keep a close eye on his progress in the coming days, marking this improvement as a potential turning point in his recovery.
