Geraldo Rivera Argues with Liberal Commentator Over Viral Panel Incident

Geraldo Rivera Critiques Adam Mokler’s Debate Style

In a recent segment on a cable news channel, former Fox News host Geraldo Rivera and Meidas Touch Network commentator Adam Mokler had an engaging discussion. The focus was on Mokler’s conduct during a tense exchange with CNN panelists regarding the Iran war in an April 30 episode of CNN NewsNight.

Rivera took issue with Mokler’s approach during this clash. He emphasized that Mokler should center his arguments on substantive issues, while Mokler defended his tactics, referencing how he was treated by CNN panelist Scott Jennings. Mokler mentioned, “He made a joke about my bedtime being just five minutes early. This is someone who can say whatever without facing consequences. Why should I adhere to rules when my opponent doesn’t?”

Rivera responded, suggesting that Mokler was missing out on the essence of debate. “You’ve got a long career ahead of you, Adam. Maybe just focus on the core points. You have a lot to offer,” he advised. Rivera pointed out that sometimes feeling uncomfortable can be a springboard for growth.

Mokler, meanwhile, felt there was a double standard, noting that Rivera didn’t challenge Jennings on his “bedtime” comments, which came after Mokler pressed Jennings on the U.S. concessions to Iran. Mokler accused Jennings of promoting ongoing conflicts and said Jennings appeared dismissive of serious points.

During the encounter, Jennings told Mokler to “get your hands off my face!” Rivera, observing the exchange, remarked later to NewsNation that Mokler was being belittled in that discussion.
