Torrie Wilson Supports Spencer Pratt in Mayoral Race
Torrie Wilson, a well-known figure in women’s wrestling during the “Monday Night Wars” era between WWE and WCW, made headlines recently. Her career spanned WCW from 1999 to 2000 before WWE acquired WCW, leading her to join WWE until 2008, with occasional appearances afterward.
Wilson was honored with an induction into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2019, along with the TriFitness Hall of Fame in 2012, after winning the TriFitness Grace and Physique Championship in 1998.
On Sunday, she ventured into political commentary, expressing her support for actor Spencer Pratt in the Los Angeles mayoral race, provided he still resided in the city. “I don’t live in Los Angeles anymore. If I did, I would support my friend @spencerpratt,” she shared on social media, hinting at Pratt’s campaign video and stating, “LA needs change.”
Pratt is one of the main challengers to current Mayor Karen Bass. Having been directly affected by last year’s Palisades wildfire, he claimed that community members were dissatisfied with Bass’s leadership.
The two have engaged in a war of words over his comments, with Bass accusing Pratt of “exploiting” his personal tragedy for political gains. In response, Pratt asserted that he received a community award for his efforts in supporting the Palisades area during the disaster that impacted his home, noting he’s aware of the severe consequences faced by neighbors.
As it stands, both Bass and Pratt are among the frontrunners in a competitive field of 13 candidates for the mayoral race, with the primary election scheduled for June 2 and the general election on November 3.
