Cardinals supporter precariously dangles from upper deck ledge in alarming situation

On Wednesday night, a group of fans intervened to pull a man back from a precarious ledge in the upper section of Busch Stadium in St. Louis.

An Instagram video from Oliver Stoffel captured the scene, showing a fan in a blue shirt and shorts precariously straddling a shelf, with one leg hanging over the edge.

“Oh my God,” exclaimed one bystander, watching the unfolding situation.

A fan in a red hat approached him, attempting to pull him back. Meanwhile, another fan in a blue hat tried to hit him, but another spectator prevented that and pulled him down instead.

As more fans gathered, one appeared to place the man in a choke hold, clearly trying to ensure his safety.

It seemed like the situation was escalating, as another fan in blue punched the man in the face while a group managed to pin him down.

“Is there security over there?” someone asked, their voice audible in the background of the video.

Falls from great heights during games have led to fatalities in the past, including a tragic incident at a Rangers game in 2011 where a fan died after falling from a railing.

In fact, just last year, a fan named Kavan Markwood fell 21 feet from the stands during a Pirates game, landing in critical condition, sparking concerns once more about fan safety.

Markwood was placed on a ventilator upon arrival at the hospital, according to medical officials, and later recounted, “I destroyed everything,” reflecting on the severity of his injuries.

He added, “I’m fine. I really can’t sleep. I have terrible back pain.”

In a game attended by 25,772 fans, the Cardinals ultimately lost 6-2 to the Brewers, splitting a two-game series that had been affected by a rainout.
