Florida Mother Arrested for Alleged Assault During Soccer Game

A mother in Florida has been accused of kicking a young soccer player during a game. At the time of her arrest, she reportedly exclaimed, “I was the one who got hit!”

Lee County Sheriff’s deputies were called to Brooks Park in Fort Myers after witnessing a significant fight on the field. As the situation unfolded, parents rushed in to break up the altercation, with several witnesses claiming a woman was seen repeatedly kicking a boy.

According to reports, the suspect, identified as Renee Lynn Lambert, 34, was quickly recognized by parents as she tried to leave. She faces charges of child abuse and resisting an officer without causing great bodily harm.

The sheriff’s office described Lambert as a “mother” who disrupted a youth football game and assaulted a player. Body camera footage captured her arguing with a deputy, who expressed anger over an adult attacking a child. Lambert, still wearing a football jersey, questioned why the deputy was upset and insisted that she was the one who had been struck.

The video shows her attempting to identify the young player, presumably the one wearing jersey number 9, saying, “So where’s No. 9? Let’s go get No. 9!” As she was taken away in handcuffs, a man in the background could be heard stating, “I told you I hit a kid!” Lambert responded by claiming, “And that kid hit me!”

Authorities noted that Lambert claimed the child had hit her with a helmet, but this assertion was later disproven. At least one witness corroborated her assertion that Lambert kicked him while on the ground.

Attempts to reach Lambert for comment were unsuccessful. Records indicate she was arrested around 8:47 PM on Saturday and released by noon the following Sunday. There was no information available regarding bail, but her next court appearance is scheduled for June 1.
