Joni Lamb, Co-Founder of Daystar Television Network, Passes Away at 65
Joni Lamb, who co-founded the Daystar Television Network alongside her late husband, has died at the age of 65. Her efforts turned the network into one of the largest Christian television channels globally.
The network’s statement highlighted that, prior to her passing, Joni had faced significant health challenges. While the cause of her death hasn’t been disclosed, it followed a back injury that worsened her condition.
“Joni’s love for the Lord and the people we serve shaped this ministry from the beginning,” remarked the network’s board of directors.
Daystar plans to continue its outreach initiatives, with a solid leadership team already in place, as per the network’s announcement.
In 1993, Joni and her husband, Marcus Lamb—who passed away in 2021—started broadcasting on a single station in the Dallas area. Just five years later, she launched her well-known daily women’s show.
Originally based in Bedford, Texas, Daystar Television Network now broadcasts in over 200 countries and features programs from renowned evangelists like Joel Osteen and TD Jakes.
According to the network, their services reach approximately 2.3 billion households worldwide.
The ministry has its roots in Pentecostalism, a Christian tradition known for vibrant worship and a belief in modern miracles, as well as a commitment to combating evil influences.
Besides her leadership role at the network, Joni hosted “Joni Table Talk,” where she engaged in discussions about everyday topics.
In a notable moment from 2010, Joni stood beside Marcus as he publicly acknowledged an affair from years prior. He also mentioned being the target of extortion attempts related to this revelation.
At that time, Joni expressed her devastation but mentioned feeling guided by the Holy Spirit, who prompted her with the thought, “He is worth fighting for.”
The couple expressed their desire to mend their relationship and keep their struggles private.
“All you can do is tell the truth, take your pain and use it to help someone else,” Joni said.
After losing Marcus at the age of 64, Joni married Doug Weiss, and together they hosted a show called “Ministry Now.”
