WATCH: New UFO footage released by Trump administration
The Trump administration recently unveiled a collection of previously unreleased files and videos related to unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAPs). This move is part of a broader effort to enhance transparency regarding what the government knows about potential extraterrestrial activities.
Among the declassified records are details from two Apollo missions, showcasing astronauts repeatedly documenting unexplainable lights and objects during their lunar explorations.
The Pentagon’s release of photos and records from the Apollo missions fits into a larger initiative initiated by President Donald Trump, who emphasized the need for government transparency concerning UFO sightings, many of which still remain unresolved. Millions of documents are currently under review, and more will be disclosed over time.
A UFO expert recently commented that Trump’s declassification could uncover years of “cover-up” regarding UFO information.
This archival photo shows the lunar surface from the Apollo 12 landing site in 1969 and features a highlighted area on the horizon where an unidentified phenomenon can be seen.
The documents released capture discussions among Apollo 12 and Apollo 17 crews in 1969 and 1972 about strange flashes and moving lights against the stark lunar backdrop. For instance, Apollo 12 astronauts reported seeing an unidentified and oddly shaped light in the sky, with one photo documenting a total of five UFOs.
One astronaut’s four-page transcript recounts witnessing a strange light in the dark sky, describing it as “setting off into space.”
He expressed initial thoughts of it potentially falling, only to realize it appeared to be escaping from the moon, moving towards the stars. He noted that the light was “pulsing every second,” while a commanding officer suggested it might be electromagnetic interference, which can arise from both natural and human-made sources.

A log from the Apollo 17 mission details sighting peculiar lights, reminiscent of those seen in “Independence Day,” through the spacecraft’s windows.
One astronaut described the lights as “jagged, angular pieces rolling down.”
This image of the moon was taken from the command module after Apollo 12 left lunar orbit on November 24, 1969.
Another astronaut recalled struggling to sleep due to a bright “kind of peripheral horizon” that was bothersome. He said, “The last thing I remember before falling asleep was a bright dot flashing between my eyes, similar to a headlight approaching me.”
