Spencer Pratt Reflects on Mother’s Day and Family Loss
Spencer Pratt, a candidate for mayor in Los Angeles, shared a poignant video for Mother’s Day, revealing how the loss of family members during the Palisades fire affected him and his wife, Heidi Montag.
The video starts with haunting images of a bushfire, transitions to the aftermath of a burned estate, and concludes with a family visiting the site where their home once stood. Montag expresses her emotions during this moment, saying, “I think they’re trying to be nice about this. I was there crying, but they were so happy to be home.”
In a heart-wrenching segment, Montag, visibly moved, recalls her sons’ reactions during their first visit to the site of her former home, which was consumed by the fire in 2025. Both of her sons, Gunner, 8, and Riker, 3, are seen expressing their feelings, with tears in their eyes.
Pratt, wishing his wife a happy Mother’s Day, remarked, “I’ve always been in awe of Heidi. She’s the most amazing mother to my boys.” Their journey has obviously been filled with challenges since the tragedy.
Pratt announced his mayoral campaign just a year after his home was lost in a fire that devastated more than 18,000 structures in the area. His frustrations about the city’s inadequate response ultimately propelled him to run against incumbent Mayor Karen Bass.
In recent debates, Pratt has emerged as a notable contender and currently ranks second in the polls, with about 40% of voters in Los Angeles still undecided about their choice for the city’s leadership.
The video also features the family’s Airstream trailer parked on the property of their former home, underscoring their journey of rebuilding and resilience. Montag and Pratt, married since 2008, continue to navigate the challenges of life as parents to their two sons.
